In a large number of industries, square steel pipes are used. The production of this kind of pipes is increasing day by day. With compare to round steel pipes, square steel pipes are little more efficient. The reason is that the square column is more efficient than the solid circular column.

In a traditional space frame, for the bar members, circular hollow section members are used. At the joint section, by welding along a curve surface, the bar members are joined. Therefore, this process takes very long time and seems to be difficult. To make the problem easier, square steel pipes are used. The square steel pipes are used in a special configuration. Although reject pipe carries no warranty whatsoever, it can have application for structural purpose.


Few of the typical examples where reject pipe has been used as structural steel tubing and pipes are handrails, columns, posts, piling, sand-wash, casing, culverts, fence, caissons, sign poles, bumpers, bracing, parking meter posts, towers, supports, rollers, etc. Structural steel pipes and tubing are normally priced substantially under prime pipe and can affect large savings in the right application.

Water pipes are tubes that carry pressurized fresh water to buildings. In well protected environments, the life expectancy of mild steel pipe is 50 to 100 years.

These are generally developed for energy-related applications involving oil and gas drilling and are subjected to stresses in machine parts. In recent years, the demand for alloy steel tubing has been increasing along with the economic growth.

Carbon steel, the most widely used engineering material, accounts for approximately 85% of the annual steel production worldwide.
